Pre-Submission
Community Input Meetings

In accordance with Section 16.128 of the Howard County Subdivision and Land Development Regulations, a pre-submission community meeting is required prior to the initial submission of the development plan to the Department of Planning and Zoning. Within 30 days of the pre-submission community meeting, a copy of the meeting minutes and written responses to all questions not verbally answered at the meeting will be sent, either electronically or by first-class mail, to all meeting attendees whose names and addresses are on the official sign-in sheet provided at the meeting. Meeting attendees will also be notified within 7 days after the initial plan submittal to Howard County Department of Planning and Zoning.

February 22, 2022

As of February 22, 2022, Howard County Department of Planning and Zoning no longer requires Pre-submission Community Meetings to be virtual per Section 16.128 of the Subdivision and Land Development Regulations. . Moving forward, any and all meetings that were scheduled after February 22, 2022 will be held in-person and will no longer be advertised on our website. 

PRE-SUBMISSION COMMUNITY MEETING PROCESS -
COVID-19 UPDATE

Following the recommendations of the CDC and given state and local mandates to practice social distancing, pre-submission community meetings are unable to be held within the community or in public or institutional buildings as required by Code. To allow for continuity of operations and essential functions related to construction, pre-submission community meetings can be held virtually.

Each pre-submission community meeting held by Benchmark Engineering will be recorded live on the specific date and time listed on the notification sent to adjoining property owners and on the sign posted on the property. Those who are unable to attend the live pre-submission community meeting can review the pre-recorded video by following the clickable link for the project below. As a requirements of the virtual community meeting the video will be posted on our website for a period of two weeks following the initial meeting date. A contact us link will be found below the video that will allow for viewers to send in questions that they may have as it relates to the project that were not addressed on the live video. Please make sure you send in any questions or comments that you have as soon as possible. Once the video has expired, the contact form will no longer be available.
